FileBrowser: Simplify macOS Folder View by Hiding System Files

If you are browsing macOS folders in FileBrowser on iPhone or iPad, you may see additional files and folders that are normally hidden in Finder, such as system files or configuration items.

This happens because macOS can expose more detailed file information over SMB connections than is typically not shown in the files app interface.

If you prefer a simpler view, you can choose to hide these files in FileBrowser at any time.

  1. Tap the 'Menu' button.
  2. Tap the 'Config' tab at the bottom.
  3. Scroll down to the 'File Browsing Preferences' section.
  4. Switch off 'Show Hidden Files'.
  5. Switch off 'Show System Files'.
