Edit IPTC Metadata on Multiple Images with a Custom File Task

Use a Custom File Task in FileBrowser to automatically edit IPTC metadata properties on multiple images, making it easy to update captions, keywords, and other image details in bulk on iPhone and iPad.

  • Tap the Sync Tasks location on your home screen.
  • Then tap the "+" icon in the bottom toolbar and select "Create Custom Task".
  • Give your task a name like "IPTC - Wayland Work"

This will run the task on the files in the current folder.

Use files from:

Change the top dropdown to "the current folder"

Then tap "Insert Step"

Only update the files in the current folder NOT in subfolders.

If you want SubFolders too then simply change this to "files in subfolders"

In the new section, change the top dropdown to "Including files/folders"

Change the second dropdown to "files only"

Then tap "Insert Step"

Set your IPTC properties.

In the new section, change the top dropdown to "Set image properties"

Tap the second dropdown that is currently set to "none"

This brings up a dialog where you can set your IPTC properties. Once done tap "Set"

Run task:

Leave it as "Manual".

Tap "Close"

To run this Task simply navigate into the folder with your images and use the toolbar actions menu and select "Run Custom Task", selecting your new "IPTC - Wayland Work" task.
