Install the ZeroTier VPN app on iPhone/iPad
Installing the iPhone/iPad client
Download the "ZeroTier One" iOS client app from the Apple App Store.
Launch the app.
Tap the + button in the top-right corner of the screen.
Paste or enter the ZeroTier Network ID and tap the "Add Network" button. Don't mistakenly switch on "Enable Default Route", as this is close to the "Add Network" button.
A confirmation popup will appear, click "Allow" to confirm that Zerotier can add a VPN connection.
If your iPhone / iPad has Touch/Face ID enabled it may also ask you to use this to protect the new VPN configuration.
You can read ZeroTier's privacy policy here.
The screen should now show the Network ID. Tap the switch to connect.
When you do this for the first time, we will need to go to the web page where we created the network and authorize your iPad/iPhone. The number highlighted is your "Device ID".
Your iPad/iPhone needs to be authorised on the zerotier website before you can continue. Click the "Networks" tab on the ZeroTier web page then select your Network from the list. The list shows devices that are either active on the network or are wanting to connect.
Find the iOS device that says "Not Authorized". This should have a "Device ID" that matches the number displayed on your iPad/iPhone.
To authorize it, click it to see the details then:
- We recommend you change the "Device Name" such as "iPhone". This will help you keep track of all your devices.
- Enable the "Device Authroized" switch.
- Scroll down to the bottom of "Device Details" and click "Save".
Now that your iOS devices are authorized you just need to add a new connection from FileBrowser to your PC/Mac with your Zerotier IP address.
