Import iOS FileBrowser Configuration into FileBrowser Pro for Mac
If you already have one of our FileBrower apps on your iPad or iPhone, simply export your configuration file to setup FileBrowser Pro for Mac.
All your connection details, preferences and app settings will be included. If you are using FileBrowserGO or FileBrowser Professional, you can choose to encrypt the settings file with AES encryption. With this option, passwords will also be stored in the configuration file. This encryption feature also provides additional security if you are storing your configuration file as a backup.
Any cloud accounts such as Googledrive or Dropbox will be added but you will need to re-link them on your new device.
Export your iOS FileBrowser Settings
Easily export all your FileBrowser location connection details on your iOS device to a settings.FILEBROWSER file. This file can be used to set up FileBrowser Pro for Mac.
First you need to save a copy of the current configuration.
- From FileBrowser's Homescreen click the Cog icon in the bottom toolbar.
- Then click "Admin Settings" scroll to the bottom of the dialog and click the "Export all Settings to File" button.
- Your settings.FILEBROWSER file is then saved to your FileBrowser "My Private Files" location.
- If you have FileBrowserGO or FileBrowser Professional you will be given the option to "Save with Passwords", which will AES-Encrypt your settings file with a password.
Import just the Settings file with AirDrop
- In you "My Private Files" location on your iOS device, location Tap the context menu on your new settings.FILEBROWSER file and select "Share".
- Then select "AirDrop" select your Mac.
- AirDrop will save the file to your "Downloads" folder, right click the file and select "Open with" then "FileBrowser Pro.app" once the app starts tap the "Import" button on the dialog.
Thats it, you will need to enter your passsword when you connect for the first time to any location.
