Using View and Sort Options in FileBrowser Pro for Mac
This guide explains how to change view modes, adjust zoom levels and sort files in FileBrowser Pro for Mac, with options saved per folder for a customised browsing experience.
Folder View Options
FileBrowser Pro for Mac remembers the View mode, Sort order and even Zoom level, per folder. Perfect for Photos or Files.
List View
Displays files in a detailed list, including information such as file size and date.
Tip: Use the Pinch gesture on the trackpad to resize the icons.
If you dont have a trackpad, click the view options icon and drag the "Zoom" slider.
Grid View
Shows files in a grid layout with icons or image thumbnails and their filenames.
Tip: Use the Pinch gesture on the trackpad to resize the thumbnails.

Grid View No Borders
Shows a clean, borderless grid of thumbnails or icons with filenames hidden, making it ideal for viewing images or videos.

Column View
Displays files in columns, showing details such as date and size.
Tip: Use the Zoom slider on the View Options menu to adjust the number of columns.
Gallery View
Provides a folder overview with large previews of images and documents when selected. A side panel allows access to image properties, including quick editing of IPTC and XMP metadata.
Gallery View includes two layouts, with a vertical mode that lets you collapse the side panel while keeping the preview visible.
Tip: You can save your view and sort options per folder for example; Your Camera roll in date order and in the Grid No Borders View, but you like your My Documents folder in list view in Name order. To enable this click the View Options icon in the bottom toolbar then select "More" and enable "Save Sort/View Per Folder"

Sort Category
You can sort your files by the following categories:
- Name - Sorts numerically, then alphabetically
- Alphabetically - Sorts letters before numbers
- Date - Sorts by last modified date
- Size - Sorts by file size
- Type - Sorts by file type
- Rating - Sorts by XMP rating for images and videos *
Sort Order
Choose whether to display results in ascending or descending order.
